AWS' first client, La Zagaleta wanted us to provide complete web presence for this luxury private community which includes golf courses, horse riding facilities and luxury real estates.
The objective was to redesign the entire site giving it a minimal, elegant and contemporary look. As the project was to be spread out over a year - with the redesign of the Home page first - we had to be very careful about the structure of the site and the menu system, in order to maintain continuity and not confuse the user. Property was to be a central feature of the new site, as was the use of a large slideshow of images. The client needed to be able to easily update these properties, so a Content Management System was essential.
After 10 years, La Zagaleta is now on its 4th bespoke design designed and implemented by Andalucia Web Solutions and being updated to use the latest web technologies.
The process of redesigning this site - yet not being able to put it live all at once certainly effected the way we looked at the project. Rather than a hindrance though, as we initially thought, these limitations actually helped us to create a clean structure. It focussed our thoughts on the transition from old to new site, and the steps, or clicks, a user would take to navigate around. We kept the basic colour scheme that was already in place (this helped with continuity issues) and just altered the useage and strength of these corporate colours. We chose classic fonts, mixed with a contemporary colour swatch of lime green, purple and grey.
Alongside the La Zagaleta stunning design the site acheived many top 10 results in various search engines for the choosen keyphrases, providing ample targeted traffic as was the desired goal.
