When we took over Cortijo Valverde in July of 2006, we inherited a website for the business. Although it was a successful website in its own right, due to its old design and technical restrictions, we were completely reliant on experts to add, change or amend pages.
 
Operating in a competitive Spanish hotel segment, with 90% of our bookings coming through our own website, we found not having control over our website a significant competitive disadvantage in generating traffic through managing our own SEO.

After submitting to AWS a well-defined and comprehensive brief from Cognisant Associates, AWS created a brand new website, with a fresh look, up-to-date feel, together with the necessary templates for us to do all the changes and amendments we needed ourselves. We are able to respond to the market demands in an instant, change our offers, pricing, promotions, etc., all on the fly. We calculate our Return on Investment on this project to be less than 6 months, taking into account the running cost of the old website vs. the new together with the increased traffic through our site.

Our traffic level has gone up by threefold since July of 2006, our bookings are up over the same period last year, and our website’s Alexa rating has gone from 7,000,000 to 600,000 worldwide and number 8,000 in Spain.
